Jeff Penn
- Southern California Director of Operations
Glenn Cadrez
- Southern California Program Director
Chris
Eaton is the
Executive Director of California Police Youth Charities. He began
his law enforcement career in the City of Chula Vista, California
where he was a Reserve Police Officer for two years. After a year
as a Tribal Police Officer on a San Diego County Indian reservation,
Chris went to work as a patrol officer for the City of Brawley.
After working as a patrol officer and Field Training Officer for six
years, Chris was assigned as the lead Adult Crimes Investigator for
the next three years. While assigned to the Investigations Division,
Chris saw the need for a unique youth crime prevention program in
Brawley. He founded the Brawley Police Activities League in 1997
which quickly grew from a small program to reaching over 1500 kids
within the community. Chris was reassigned full time to the Brawley
PAL where the program has prospered for many years. After being promoted to
Sergeant, Chris was reassigned to patrol as a supervisor where he
sustained a career ending neck injury. Forced to retire from the
police force, Chris continued on as the Executive Director of the
Brawley PAL. He has been a board member of many non-profit
organizations including the Brawley Boys and Girls Club, The
Imperial County Child Abuse Prevention Council, The Imperial County
Law Enforcement Charity Foundation as well as numerous others. Chris
has devoted his life to helping kids in need and will continue to do
so while leading the California Police Youth Charities organization.
He is married with two daughters and a son.
Jeff
Penn is the Program
Director of California Police Youth Charities. He began his law
enforcement Career in Imperial County, California where he was a
patrol officer for ten years. Jeff founded the Charity Bowl
Foundation in 1988 which was instrumental in raising approximately
$100,000.00 programs including Make A Wish Foundation, United Way,
Child Abuse Prevention Council, Los Ninos Home for Abused Children
and many other worthy causes. Although Jeff enjoyed his job and the
community he lived in, the desire for advancement in his career and
a better climate led him to his next assignment with the City of San
Jacinto. Jeff went to work as a patrol officer for San Jacinto
Police Department and quickly advanced through the ranks over the
next eight years. Jeff’s assignments included Lead Traffic
Investigator, Patrol Sergeant, Field Training Officer, Motor
Instructor and Detective Sergeant.
Jeff
was responsible for starting the San Jacinto Police Activities
League where he spent many nights as the PAL boxing coach. He
continued his fundraising in San Jacinto with the Cops 4 Kids
charity football games and the Battle of the Badges boxing
tournaments. Reluctantly, Jeff concluded his seventeenth year as a
Law Enforcement Officer due to job-related health issues and assumed
the Program Director’s post with CPYC in 2004. Under
the storm clouds of those health issues, the sun did break through
for Jeff, though. He is now able to pursue his primary passion-- the
welfare of children. Through his work at CPYC, Jeff is able to reach
a broader audience and expand on the needs of kids who are at risk.
His deeply-held belief that children are our future, that they
deserve our commitment to their safety, prosperity and
productiveness, is the message Jeff leaves with every person he
solicits to help the children of CPYC.
